Abstract
Multiparameter flow cytometry allows one to estimate, with high accuracy, relative quantities of variety of cell constitutents simultaneously. In contrast to biochemical analysis in bulk, cellular heterogeneity can be estimated and cell populations with distinct characteristics can be descriminated by this way. To measure the process of lymphocyte stimulation, multiparameter flow cytometry is ideally suited. Simultaneous measurement of RNA and DNA make it possible to descriminate all the compartments of cell cycle and offers great precision in determining the degree of cell progression through the stimulation process. Futhermore corelated measurement of cell surface, cytoplasmic molecule and intracellular Cap+ change associated with stimulation provide important information on the lymphocyte maturation and activation. Application of multiparameter flow cytometry to studies has provided a plethora of imformation contributing to better understanding of several biological process. Availability of molecular pobes and futher developement of instrumentarion gurantee future progress in this field.
